What moves, which way

How we connect it
- 01ConnectionSAP Business One through its Service Layer (REST/OData); S/4HANA through its OData APIs, or middleware where your IT team already runs one.
- 02OwnershipSAP stays the system of record for prices and stock; the store reads, never overrides.
- 03TraceabilityOrders are posted as sales orders only after payment is confirmed, with the store's order ID kept on the SAP document for tracing.
When something fails
Integrations fail in predictable ways. These four rules keep a failure from reaching a customer.
Queued
Every change travels as an event on a queue, so nothing waits on a slow or offline system.
Phase 1 of 4
Safe to retry
Each message carries an ID, so a retry never creates a duplicate order or double stock movement.
Phase 2 of 4
Visible
Messages that keep failing move aside and alert a named engineer, with the reason attached.
Phase 3 of 4
Reconciled
A nightly check compares key numbers between systems and flags any drift before customers notice.
Phase 4 of 4
Questions
Does SAP need to be changed?
Usually not. We connect through SAP's standard APIs. If your SAP team prefers middleware they already run, we connect to that instead.
What happens if SAP is down?
The store keeps taking orders. They wait on a queue and post to SAP in order when it's back, with an alert if anything is stuck.
